Rhodes Mountain Family Music Festival

We are excited to be hosting our very first Family Music Festival!  We have 5 groups performing throughout the weekend with lots of other activities scheduled.  Friday we will kick off with a stage performance beginning at 6pm, then a square dance to follow around 8 pm.  Saturday will be a full day of activities.  We start off with instrumental workshops at 9am, fiddle contest at 11am, stage performance at 1 pm, then we’re going to do some square dancing!  There will be activities for the young children, we have put in a playground, we will have craft vendors, & the concession stand will be available all day.  Feel free to scroll through to get more information on the different activities.

 

Workshops

We will offering workshops for all the bluegrass instruments:  Bass, Banjo, Guitar, Dobro, Mandolin, & Fiddle.  The workshops will be administered by professional musicians & be in an intimate setting allowing for everyone of all levels to participate with questions & demonstrations.  Workshops will begin at 9 am Saturday morning.

 

Fiddle Contest

Rhodes Mountain Fiddle Contest will Begin at 11 am on Saturday.  All age levels & skill levels are welcome.  See the Fiddle COntest Rules for all the details.  There will be 2 divisions, Youth (15 & under) & Open (all ages).  1st place award in the open division will be $400, 2nd place is $300, 3rd place is $200.  1st placein the the youth division is $75, 2nd is $50, 3rd is $25.  Each fiddle contestant can choose only 1 division.  See the Contest Rules sheet for more info.  No show tunes are allowed, only old time fiddle tunes.  We will accept registrations until 10am Saturday Sept 30, 2017.  You can print the Fiddle Contest Registration Form & mail it to:

Craft Vendors

Craft Vendor Application

We will have many different crafts available.  If you are interested in setting up a booth please call me or fill out an application form.  All vendors are expected to exhibit family/Christian values & products.  You will need to provide your own tables, tents, electrical cords, etc.  The space will be marked as a 10 x 10 area.  You may purchase extra space for a discounted price.  Booth space is $35.00 for 1 space, $55.00 for 2 12X12 spaces before Sept 10, 2017. After this date the fee will be $40.00 & $60.00.  Each Vendor receives 2 weekend passes and 2 $5 meal vouchers.
